Firstly, I want to thank Mr Lexy from “LifeHub Centre, Batam” and also with “Shalom Internasional”, for inviting me and my friendsto Papua. I have previously not heard about Nabire, Papua, whereas for Papua New Guinea, I have heard many times.
When the invitation came to me, I told my friends that we should pray and ask for God’s will whether we will be able to go. As I prayed, there was so much of peace and excitement rising in me. With that confirmation, I informed Mr Lexy that we will join him and the team.
The very first day at Jakarta airport we were able to meet Pdt. Ir. E.R. Situmorang, who provides the vision and mission for Nabire, Papua. He is a man who radiates passion whenever he communicates. His heart and prayer for this nation is indescribable.
As I spend more time with him, I learned a lot more about him – his determination, strong leadership, humility, prayer, love and the passion to “Reach the Unreached” people group. All these are great learning points for me as well.
Furthermore, he never says ‘No’, but trust and yearns to see the work of the Lord beingfulfilled in and through his team of sisters and brothers. The charisma which he carries is so effective that the whole team speaks, pray and think’s like him. He is a great role model to their lives and this reminded me of the importance of being likewise to others around me too.
He is a man of wisdom, a great thinker, who planscarefully and connectswell with the Pastors of the city, who then carries his passion to expand the gospel of Jesus to the nation of Indonesia and Papua.
In regards to the team, it was great working with each one of them, like a family. The evidence of Lord’s presence were in them. I could say that this mission trip was successful because of the presence of team spirit among the brothers, sisters and the intercessors.
Whenever we need to process things together, the whole team worked with love, unity, joy and with one heart and mind. Outflow from this unity and love, the people we interacted with saw God’s Glory and were ministered by His Spiritflowing through them.
It was amazing to see how the children and adults enjoyed every moment whenever the team led in medication, children ministry and counselling with prayers. The participants were so touched and ministered through this wonderful team. I will say, I am so blessed to be part of this family and learned many things through them.
As for Children ministry, thechildren’s singing was so beautiful and powerful. They sang with their hearts out for the Lord. Every song they sang was with passion and it was like an aroma pleasing for the Lord. Not only were the children worshipping with their hands lifted up and eyes closed, but the Lord was also ministering to them in a special ways.
The presence of the Lord was moving powerfully. There were so much of tears running down their cheeks and when you hold them near your chest, they will hold you tied and cry their heart out. I believe the Lord was pouring his love and healing their hearts.
The word that was shared reminded them again who Jesus is in their lives. I believe the children returned home with the richness of His Word and the planted seed in their heart will grow deeper.
During the medical check-up, a young mother had a one and half year old child who was unable to walk. After praying for the child, he was able to walk a few steps. Glory to God! He is God of yesterday, today and forever.
A blind man who came for medication, said that he was unable to see anything. Each time we prayed, we asked him whether he was able to see. At the third time he said he can see some shadow. We will continue to pray for God’s supernatural healing upon him so that he can testify for God’s Kingdom and His Glory.
In whole, no matter whether I was in the field with my brothers and sisters or in the house, I treasured every minute because I learned the importance of working together with love, joy and humbleness. When we operate in the spirit of unity, we are able to accomplish a great work for the Lord in this earth. May the name of Jesus Christ which has power, be saturated wherever He has placed us to minister.
Let us continue to pray for Nabire, Papua. Whateverin this nation that was stolen by the enemy, God will restore with double portion and wisdom. The young generation will arise with wisdom and lead this nation with God’s righteousness.
Revival will take place in men, women and in families, and that God will do a greater work in them. The nation of Nabire, Papua will grow from glory to glory. The enemy’s work over Naberi will be silencedin Jesus Name.
Let me end with this scripture for Naberi, Papua.
Isaiah 60: 1- 3
Arise, shine for your light has come and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. For the darkness shall cover the earth and deep darkness the peoples; but the Lord shall rise upon you and His Glory shall be seen upon you. The nations shall come to your light and kings to the brightness of your rising.
